Sunan - guyŏk is one of the 18 districts of Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea. The district has 40,983 inhabitants ( as of 2010) and is located in the north of the city and is bordered to the east by the district Ryongsong - guyŏk and on the south by Hyŏngjesan - guyŏk.

The area was established in April 1972 to mark the 60th birthday of Kim Il -sung's through integration of administrative districts of the former county Sunan -gun to the municipality of Pyongyang.

Economy and Transport

The district is home to several agricultural cooperatives, an ostrich farm and various logistics companies. So there are also the Sunan Airport, as well as the headquarters of Air Koryo at Sunan - guyŏk.
