Geographical Location

Sünching is located in Bavaria, in the administrative region Upper Palatinate on the Great Laber.

The municipality Sünching has three officially named districts (population as of August 28, 2002 ):

Furthermore, there is the place Ziegelstadel ( 8), which, however, is not officially named the district.

History

Sünching 773 is first mentioned. The noble family of Sünchinger is from the mid- 12th to mid-14th century detectable. The baron, then Earl of Seinsheim resided 1573-1958 at the castle Sünching. The castle is an octagon octagonal, irregular courtyard, the building history is exceptionally well documented, it is one of the most beautiful rococo in southern Germany. Attractions

  • Castle Sünching: The first castle was probably in the 12-13. Built century by the family of the Sünchinger, it was first mentioned in 1395.
