Suncorp Metway is an Australian company based in Brisbane.

The company was formed in 1996 from a merger of Suncorp, Metway Bank and the Queensland Industry Development Corporation ( QIDC ). Around 17,000 people are employed in the company. The Australian insurance companies GIO General Ltd.. is a subsidiary of Suncorp - Metway. The company includes furthermore the Promina Group, which offers various types of insurance ( AAMI, Apia, Just Car Insurance, Shannons, InsureMyRide, Vero, Asteron and Tyndal ).
