Sundowner (drink)

In a sundowner (English for about sun -lowering agents ) is an alcoholic beverage that is consumed at sunset. It usually comes for about half an hour together, and most of it remains at one, more than two alcoholic beverages.

In English dominated African countries, the Sundowner is still happy maintained by the travel company. For this purpose, you can meet within the tour group for the joint observation of the sunset with a drink. Even among private people in southern and tropical countries is the invitation " sundowner " a common practice.

One hypothesis is that the Sundowner was introduced in the British Navy: Because the officers of a ship rarely fully met due to the variety of guard duty, captains have the ritual of sundowners introduced so that at least once a day takes place a full complement of meeting.
