Tachiagare Nippon

Tachiagare Nippon (Jap.たちあがれ日本, dt " Arise, Japan ."; Engl The Sunrise Party of Japan) was founded on April 10, 2010 before the Sangiin 2010 Election of five members of the national parliament. Party chairman was Takeo Hiranuma (previously Hiranuma group), who had initiated the foundation together with Kaoru Yosano after its exit from the LDP. The two were joined by Hiroyuki Sonoda ( Shūgiin, LDP), Yoshio Nakagawa ( Sangiin, LDP) and Takao Fujii ( Sangiin, LDP). So they had five MPs in the national parliament, which is a prerequisite for formal recognition as a party.

More deputies of the LDP and the already leaked Kunio Hatoyama, who are dissatisfied with the party leadership of Sadakazu Tanigaki, declared their sympathy with the new party; some had conducted negotiations. In June 2010, the Sangiin Member Kyoko Nakayama joined the party. On 13 January 2011, the founding member Yosano tendered his resignation party.

The party's name was according to statements made by Shintaro Ishihara, then governor of Tokyo and former LDP leadership member suggested.

Tachiagare Nippon positioned itself clearly in opposition to the ruling Democratic Party. Among their key demands included a revision of the constitution of 1947, a fundamental tax reform, including a - also required by the LDP - VAT increase and a sustained financially viable social system.

In January 2012 Tachiagare Nippon formed in Sangiin a fraction communion with the LDP.
