Supervalu is a US-based food retail company headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Supervalu is listed on the stock index S & P 500.

The company was founded in 1870 by Hugh G. Harrison. Supervalu employs approximately 200,000 employees.

On June 2, 2006 Supervalu acquired the US-based retail company Albertsons from Minnesota. In March 2013 Albertsons and several other subsidiary chains to Cerberus Capital Management was sold.
