Susan Aho

Susan Aho ( born March 5, 1974 in Espoo ) is a Finnish musician, a member since 1997 of the successful Finnish- Karelian music group Värttinä. She comes from Espoo in southern Finland, near the capital Helsinki.

After she had devoted himself to playing the accordion since the age of 14, Susan Aho, 1998 was accordionist and singer for Värttinäs album " Vihma ", but turned already for the coming album " Ilmatar " (2001) exclusively to singing and was on the accordion by Markku Lepisto replaced. She is studying at the department of folk music of the prestigious Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and is involved in various other projects besides Värttinä.

So it seemed, for example, as a singer and accordionist in the Greek group " Odysseia ", was a member of the folk band Metsänväki and played together with the Finnish accordionist Minna Luoma Finnish gypsy songs in the group Rotunaiset. She's since 1998 and now part of the balkan - Finnish band " Vaeltajat " in which she sings and also plays accordion.

She also works with the established in 1977 " puppet theater Sampo " together ( Nukketeatteri Sampo ) in Helsinki, in which the interaction of the traditional puppet theater with music and poetry plays a big role.

In 2008 she founded with Johanna Virtanen, the duo Kuunkuiskaajat. In 2010 she won the Finnish Trials for Euro Vision Song Contest 2010 with the song Työlki ellää, but could not qualify for the final. 2011 leaving the Aho Finnish scoring for the 56th Euro Vision Song Contest in Dusseldorf.
