Susan Stuart Frackleton

Susan Stuart Frackleton, better known as Susan Stuart ( Goodrich) Frackelton, (* 1848 in Milwaukee, † 1932 ibid ) was an American painter and ceramic artist.

Life

Susan Stuart Frackleton learned landscape painting in Milwaukee at Henry Vianden and dealt with the genre painting. In the late 1870s, she turned more to the art of ceramics, mostly of Chinese decorative art. Her work has been exhibited in the United States and Europe, and won several awards. She won only nine awards at the World 's Fair in 1893. Among other things, it congratulated the Italian queen in writing about their outstanding Chinese works of art. She led a local club for training professional artist, which later became the Milwaukee Art Institute was established, which rose again at the Milwaukee Art Museum. She was also president of the Wisconsin School of Design.

Her body is at Forest Home Cemetery in Milwaukee, Section 10, Block 48, Lot 4
