Suspense (radio drama)

Suspense was an American radio drama series that first aired on the CBS on June 17, 1942. Until the termination in 1962, more than 900 episodes were produced.

The name of the detective series ( suspense is called in German " voltage " or " uncertainty" ) was programmatic. The subjects were from the areas of crime and mystery. As usual in the 1940s, the individual episodes were initiated by a narrator who "The Man in Black" was called. Famous movie stars such as Reginald Gardiner and Olivia de Havilland appeared in the series.

The manuscripts came, among others, the mystery writer John Dickson Carr (1906-1977), directed by William Spier predominantly ( 1906-1973 ).
