Suzuki Burgman

Suzuki Burgman, in other countries also known as Suzuki Skywave, a motor scooter from the Japanese manufacturer Suzuki.

There are currently four models in Germany, some of which are in Japan, others may be produced in the Spanish factory Suzuki: Burgman 125, Burgman 200, Burgman 400 and Burgman 650 Burgman 650 is the next to the Gilera GP 800 and the Kymco MyRoad 700 Kymco one of the currently most powerful production scooter in the world. It is distributed worldwide and has particularly in the United States a large following. The Burgman 400 is available now (since 1999 ) in 4 generations. ( In the picture is the 3rd generation of 2003 - see 2006. ) The first Burgman 1998 was the Burgman 250 ( largely identical to the first 400 ).

History

Up to 1999, was known under the term scooter only smaller vehicles up to a maximum of 250 cc, built in the style of a Vespa. With the Burgman AN 400 Suzuki rang then the time of the big scooter. The AN 400 was around 200 kg of the first heavy roller, equipped with a then sensational 25 -kW single-cylinder four -stroke engine with 385 cc and a Variomat gear, which allowed a comfortable driving ( only accelerating and braking ). Thanks to more stable chassis, sufficient engine performance and increased comfort motorcycle driving was similar with the scooter for the first time become possible even for two and on long trips.
