Suzuki RM series

The RM series is a family of models of two-stroke motorcycles ( more recently, four-stroke ) of the manufacturer Suzuki. "RM" stands for " Racing Model " (Racing Model) and refers to motorcycles that are designed specifically for motocross racing. With the RM 125M the first model of the series was introduced in 1975. 1976 was followed by the RM 125A, RM 250A, RM 370A and the. The predecessor of the RM series was the TM series. These included the following models: TM 75, TM 100, TM 125, TM 250 and TM 400

Following the RM- series models produced to date:

  • RM- Z 250 ( four-stroke )
  • RM- Z 450 ( four-stroke )
  • RM 85 ( two-stroke )
  • RM 250 ( two-stroke the 2008 model is produced as before )
  • RM 125 ( two-stroke the 2008 model is produced as before )

The Suzuki RM500 was built from 1983 to 1985. 1981, Suzuki RM465X on the market. She was the first RM465 model with the full- floater deflection and ended the Twinshock era. The RM465 was built until 1982. The 1982 model can be recognized by the 38 -mm flat- slide carburetor instead of the 36 mm Mikuni round slide carburetor such as in the 1981 model. In 1983 came the first RM500 on the market, with 492 cm ³ and a duplex front brake system. This model was built until 1984 in this embodiment.

1985 got the RM500 with a front disc brake and golden rims. With it, the era of big 2-stroke motocross bike from Suzuki came to an end.

The early 1990 's, the RMs with upside-down forks were fitted. However, this disappeared because just in the hobby area, the oil seals were often leak.
