SV 1919 Bernbach

The SV Bernbach is a sports club from the belonging to the Hessian free court Bernbach.

History

The club was founded in the fall of 1919 as Football Club Germania Bernbach. After the Second World War took place in 1945 was re-established as a sports community Bernbach, from which in 1953 the sports club in 1919 Bernbach emerged.

After the SV Bernbach had played for many years in lower leagues, the club initially then increased in 1990 in the national league, 1995 in the Oberliga Hessen. 1998 was the most successful year of the association. You won the runner-up in the league and thus the relegation to promotion to the Regionalliga Süd, in which one but missed the rise as Runner-up behind the SC Pfullendorf.

In the following years the club has received financial difficulties and was according to the audit by the tax and subsequent tax assessment before the off, but managed to avoid bankruptcy. 2001 SV Bernbach was denied a league license in the first round and issued retrospectively only after long negotiations. Despite tight budgets managed nevertheless belonging to the highest Hessian football class.

In 2005 and after the chances of promotion again in 2007, the descent into the national league was. According to a further decline in 2008, the club played in the group league. 2011 was followed by a subsequent descent, this time in the eight-year county league Gelnhausen.
