SV Blitz Breslau

The VfR 1897 Wroclaw (full name Association for Grass 1897 Breslau) was a football club based in Wroclaw. His original name was SV Blitz Breslau.

History

The SV Blitz Breslau was founded on 1 April 1897 by former members of the cycling club Blitz Breslau. 1900 belonged to the club for the 86 founding members of the German Football Association. On August 26, 1901, the SC Silesia Wroclaw split off.

Since 1903, the SV Blitz Breslau was a member of the Association Ballgame clubs and since 1906 the East German Football Association. On 2 May 1907, the club was renamed the Association for Grass 1897 Wroclaw.

The VfR Wroclaw won in 1908, 1909 and 1910, the Wroclaw city championship. 1908 and 1910 he was East German champion in addition. 1908 hit the club in the quarter-finals of the German Cup on Wacker Leipzig and defeated with 1:3. 1910 subject to the club in the quarter-finals of the German Championship the Berlin representative Tasmania Rixdorf 1-2. 1934 VfR Breslau was merged with the SC Silesia to VfR Silesia Breslau in 1897, which in turn became extinct in 1945.

Venue
