SV-Hochhaus

The high-rise South German publishing house ( SV for short -Hochhaus ) in Munich is home to the headquarters of the Süddeutsche Verlag. It is located in the commercial area of the district Zamdorf, next to the A 94 motorway and the train station Berg am Laim.

The tower of the architectural firm GKK Architekten was initially planned with a height of 145 meters, but had to be rescheduled after a Munich public petitions for a height limit of 100 meters outside the middle ring has pronounced. The tower now reaches an official building height of 103.0 meters. The building has 28 floors above ground. Overall, it has a gross floor area of ​​78,400 m², with 51,200 m² are above ground and 27,200 m² underground. Since the gross floor area should not change as a result of re-planning, the skyscraper was indeed much lower, but wider lot than in the original design. In the basement is an underground car park with 553 parking spaces.

On the opposite side of the road the road is Hultschiner since 1985, the printing of the publisher.

The foundation stone was laid on 19 May 2006. In December 2007, the Süddeutsche Verlag sold the building to the Munich pros REIT Prime Office and leased it back for 15 years. In November 2008, the relocation of the publisher from the Black house in Munich's old city was in the high-rise. The publisher concentrated there 1850 jobs.
