SV Süden Forst

The SV south forest was a football club from the town of Forst (Lausitz ).

History

The SV south Forestry was established in 1907 under the name of gymnastics and sports club south forest. As 1919, the ATSB decided to compete with the DFB, a German championship in football for workers' sports clubs align, also took part in the south forest. Already in 1919, qualified as one East German champion for the final round. On 20 June 1919, the TSV - Cassel Wildau you defeated in Kassel before 4,500 spectators surprisingly high with 5:1, yielding moved into the finals. Taking place in Leipzig finals but lost against one Tuspo Fürth 3-2.

Also in the season 1925/1926 you could qualify again as a master of ATSB circle East Germany for the ATSB Championship. In the semifinals they defeated St. Leonhardt - Schweinau 2-0. The final, which took place on 29 May 1926 in Dresden before 12,000 spectators, however, they lost significantly with 1:5 against the Dresdner SV 1910.

In the following decades it was impossible to build on these successes. In 1933, all workers' sports clubs, as well as the TuS south Forestry, disbanded by the Nazis.

After the Second World War, the re- establishment took place under the name SV south forest. Due to the GDR naming guidelines for sports clubs soon was renamed the SG unit forestry. 1972 promotion to the District League Cottbus, the third- highest division in the schedule of the German Football Association (DFV ) of the GDR. There they remained until 1980.

After the turn was the re- naming back in SV south forest. 2007, the year of the centennial club existence, promotion to the national league South Brandenburg. There you could keep three years before the season was finished on a relegation place in 2009 /2010.

Due to demographic problems of the city forest and the resulting lack of players, it was decided to club fusion with the Red-White 90 Forest 1 July 2011. The resulting therefrom club bears the name SV Lausitz Forst.
