Svatoslav (Třebíč District)

Svatoslav ( German Swatoslau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. You more than twelve kilometers north of Třebíč and belongs to Okres Třebíč.

Geography

Svatoslav is located in a space formed by the creek Svatoslavský creek and a left tributary valley in Krischanauer Bergland ( Křižanovská Highlands ) in the south of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands. To the north of the Vořenov (620 m) and Hradiště rise ( 661 m), the Cerveny Kopec (617 m) and Skalníky ( 642 m) in the southeast, and the Smrček ( 674 m) in the southwest.

Neighboring towns are Pouště and Brodek in the north, Pavlinov and Horni Radslavice in the northeast, and Bochovice Batouchovice in the east, in the southeast Hroznatín, Benetice and Čechtín in the south, and Horni Kouty Smrcne in the west and Radošov and Zátiší in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was in 1290, when the abbot of the Benedictine monastery Martin II Třebíč from Templar Syfrid de Bruno bought a farm. 1465 pledged the Abbot Matthew the farm to the vassal Vidlák. His descendants held the property until 1490, then replaced Wilhelm II of Pernštejna a pledge and Svatoslav was part of Třebíč. In the second half of the 16th century consisted of two Svatoslav fief, which until 1654 held by the Lords of Vidlák, followed by Jiří Kotrba. 1678 emerged instead of Mannslehngüter two courtyards.

After the abolition of patrimonial Svatoslav formed in 1850 a district of the political community Bochovice in the district Třebíč. In 1869 the municipality Svatoslav, which had 445 inhabitants in 1870. At the transition from the 19th to the 20th century it led temporarily the name Svatoslava. In 1900, 450 people lived in Svatoslav. 1925 Good Waldsteinruh was separated from the large estates in Třebíč and connected the estate administration in Čechtín. Owners were the lords of Waldstein - Wartenberg, Mont Long and Krečen. In 1991 the village had 268 inhabitants. Since 2003, the municipality performs a coat of arms and banners. The community Svatoslav today consists of 98 residential buildings.

For the community Svatoslav no districts are reported. To Svatoslav the monolayer Žákův Mlýn ( Swatoslauer mill) and Zátiší include ( Waldsteinruh ).

Attractions

  • Pleasure palace Valdštejnovo Zátiší, also called Seč ( Waldsteinruh ) in Zátiší, built in the second half of the 19th century for the Earl of Waldstein - Wartenberg from a 14th century celebrations. In 1945 the castle was confiscated and it set up a children's camp. By was in the 1970s and 1980s alterations in the style of "socialist realism " lost the castle its attractiveness.
  • Chapel of St. Benedict, built in 2005-2006 by the architects Eva Uchytilová and Karel Vaverka from Třebíč
