Sven Meyer
Sven Meyer ( born September 4, 1970 in West Berlin) is a German footballer who is currently under contract with Berliner Sport-Club.
Playing career
Sven Meyer began as a five year old at Rapide Wedding playing football. He subsequently transferred to the youth of Tennis Borussia Berlin, before he went in 1988 to Hertha BSC. There he was first and subsequently used in the A- youth in the amateurs. On the second matchday of the 1992/93 season Sven Meyer made his debut for Hertha's professional team in the 2nd Bundesliga, as he was substituted just before the end in the game at Hannover 96 for Torsten Gowitzke. A regular place but, however, he could not fight there under Bernd Stange still under Günter Sebert. So it was that he still mostly aground for Amateurelf which surprisingly reached the DFB Cup final in the same season. But Meyer was in front of 76,000 spectators at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin not prevent the final end with 04 Leverkusen lost 0-1 against Bayer. Also in 1993/94 had a hard time Meyer at his coaches. Only when Karsten Heine replaced as a game manager in the closing stages of the season Uwe Reinders, Meyer came to missions. 1994/95 was then for the first time Meyer for stem formation and has won both the twins Oliver and Andreas Schmidt with 32 missions, most applications. 1995/96 belonged to Meyer first choice line-up, lost his place but after the appointment as the new coach Juergen Roeber. Under him, Meyer came mainly as a substitute for the course.
That's why Meyer went to the first FC Union Berlin, which starred in the Regionalliga 1996/97 to move up, but this ultimately failed. 1997/98 Meyer had completed all 18 games before the winter break. Since at the same time the financial position at Union was always precarious, Meyer signed during the winter break a resolution contract and moved to Chengdu Wuniu to China.
After a season Sven Meyer returned in November 1998 returned to Germany, where he received a contract with SV Babelsberg 03. Babelsberg played at this time in the regional league and reached there on the 15th place in the league.
But already at the end of the season left Meyer Babelsberg and went to FC Bremerhaven in the North Season of the Regional. The season has finished second to last place and thus had the FC Bremerhaven compete in the upcoming season in the Oberliga Nord Season Lower Saxony / Bremen.
In the summer of 2000 Meyer Bremerhaven left and went to league rivals VfB Oldenburg, with whom he indeed won the season, but ultimately failed in the promotion relegation to the second team of Hamburger SV.
So Meyer returned to Berlin in summer 2002. There, he signed a contract with TeBe and began at the same time to study business administration. With Tennis Borussia Meyer competed in the fourth division Oberliga Nordost. There, they finished in the final table in fourth place. For the season 2003/ 04 Meyer was then captain of Borussia. However, after the fifth place in the final standings Meyer TeBe left and went to Spandau SV.
With the Spandauern Sven Meyer, however, increased in 2007 in the league, which was finished in 12th place, through a reform league in the 2008 /09 season only played fünftklassig. During the winter break Sven Meyer moved to Berlin SC. With the BSC Meyer on first attempt in the re-emergence in the Berlin -Liga, where Meyer was able to contribute four goals to a rebirth.
Private
Since 2003, Sven Meyer worked for the sports marketing Sport Five. At the same time he plays regularly in the tradition team of Hertha BSC.
