Sven Schmid

Sven Schmid ( born January 21, 1978 in Johannesburg ) is a German fencer in the discipline herein sword and bronze medalist at the 2004 Olympics in Athens with the team.

The former junior world champion began his career at SV Böblingen and later moved to FC Tauberbischofsheim. The sport soldier holds the rank of Master Sergeant and is coach of the German national sword of wheelchairs. On March 16, 2005, he was Federal President Horst Köhler and Schily awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf.
