Švenčionėliai

Švenčionėliai is a city and the center of the eponymous country office of the Rajongemeinde Švenčioniai in the east of Lithuania, 10 km west of Švenčioniai. The river Zeimena flows through the city.

History

A first mention is available from the end of the 17th century. 1920 Švenčionėliai got city rights granted and confirmed in 1939. 1959 St. Edvard Church Švenčionėliai was built. In 1996, the Lithuanian president confirmed the city's coat.
