Svetlana Loboda

Svitlana Loboda Serhijiwna (Ukrainian Світлана Сергіївна Лобода; born October 18, 1982 in Kiev, Svetlana Loboda also ) is a Ukrainian singer, presenter and fashion designer. It achieved notoriety in 2009 when she represented her native country at the Euro Vision Song Contest.

Career

Loboda was interested in as a child for singing, playing the piano and acting. Later she learns in the Academy of Circus and Variety in Kiev, they also played the lead role in the musical The Equator. She was a member of several music groups. Larger fame it reached in 2004, when they (international as Nu Virgos occurring ) was a member of the Ukrainian-Russian group VIA Gra. Shortly thereafter, however, she separated from VIA Gra and started her solo career. The first single Chernobyl belaja sima (Russian Черно - белая зима ) was published in 2004 yet, the debut album Ty ne sabudesch (Russian: Ты не забудешь ) followed in the next year.

In 2006, she worked as a presenter for Novy channel, for example, she hosted the Miss CIS event. In 2007 she founded under the name Happy Vacatations her own travel agency, also her own fashion label. In 2008, she returned with the album Ne Ma4o back on the musical stage.

In 2009 she took part in the Ukrainian preliminary decision to Euro Vision Song Contest. By composed by herself Title Be My Valentine, she sat down by the maximum number of points and thus won the Ukrainian ticket to international competition, which was held in Moscow in May 2009. The music video was not re-shot, but cut together from those of Postoi, MuSchtschina (2006), Mishka, Gadki maltschischka (2007) and Ne Ma4o (2008). For the Euro Vision Song Contest in the song Be My Valentine was! (Anti - Crisis Girl) renamed, also a Russian version under the title Paren, ty nitscho was taken. They failed to qualify for the final, and reached there the twelfth place with 25 participants. Attention was given to the appearance because it contained a large wheel, as " infernal machine " means.

Apart from a first place in the Ukrainian Airplay Charts Be My Valentine reached the charts in Greece ( 9th place), Sweden ( # 46 ), and the 167th place in the United Kingdom.

In 2010 she released the single Schit legko, followed Serdze bjotsja, a duet with Max Barskih.
