Svetlana Tatunts

Svetlana Achundowna Tatunz, (Russian Светлана Ахундовна Татунц; * 1953 in Baku ) is a Russian ethno- sociologist, conflict researcher and since 2008 professor at the Faculty of World Politics of the Moscow State University. She has worked as a consultant for social and state institutions of the Russian Federation.

Life

After studying History at the State University of Baku degree in 1978 her PhD was a candidate of sciences in 1983 at the Department of Social Sciences at the MGU and Habilitation at the Sociology Department of the Moscow State University. Ph.D. in sociology it is since 1996, was the theme of the habilitation thesis " The social anthropology as a science ." There was a research stay at the Institute of Sociology of the University of Regensburg in the winter semester 1995-1996.

From 1998 to 2008 she was a professor of sociology at the Sociology Department of the Moscow State University. Thanks to the scientific work of Tatunz was at the Sociology Department at Moscow State University, the subject " social anthropology " was added to the teaching and created in this new discipline semester, graduate, and doctoral theses.

Since 2008 she is a professor at the department of regional problems of world politics at the Faculty of World Politics at Moscow State University. She is also author of the teaching programs for " social anthropology " and " ethnic politics " in the universities of the Russian Federation in accordance with the State Standard of the Education Ministry of the RF. Tatunz is a member of the Russian sociologist Society ( РОС ) and the International Institute of Sociology (IIS). She was awarded the Honorary Diploma of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.

She is the author of 50 scientific publications in the fields of social anthropology, political science and conflict studies, among other things, also published in German and Italian abroad. The regional focus of her research are in the area of ​​the Commonwealth of Independent States, Eastern and Western Europe.

Research interests

Her research focuses on ethno-national issues in the modern world, ethnic migration processes in the age of globalization, Inter-ethnic conflicts, conflict research, confrontation and dialogue. Conflict management, problems of integration in foreign ethnic spaces, diaspora and socio-cultural institution and as a factor in foreign policy, problems of tolerance and ethnic conflicts and social and political stability.
