Svinesund (Swedish Svinesundsbron; norway Svinesundsbrua. ) Is the name of two bridges over the strait Svinesund, which forms a portion of the border between Norway and Sweden.

The old two-lane bridge ( in Norwegian called Gammel Svinesundsbru or schwed. Gamla Svinesundsbron ) with a length of 420 meters and a height of 58 meters, was built in 1939-1942. It was taken in 1946 in operation.

The new four-lane bridge ( swedish Nya Svinesundsbron or norw Nye Svinesundsbru ), approximately 1,150 feet west of the old Brücke59.09767511.270642, was inaugurated on 10 June 2005 under the presence of the Swedish and the Norwegian royal couple ( was originally scheduled June 7, the hundredth anniversary of the dissolution of the union of Sweden and Norway). The total length is 704 meters, the height of the road is 60 meters above the water. The span of the concrete center sheet is 247 meters. About the bridge carries the four-lane highway E6 from Gothenburg to Oslo. Planned and built, the new Svinesund by the German construction company Bilfinger Berger. 2006, the new building was awarded a prize by the Norwegian architectural Price Betongtavlen.

Since 1 July 2005, a toll is charged for both bridges, the old bridge towards Sweden was still passable free until May 1, 2006.
