Swedish Olympic Committee

The Sveriges Olympiska man committee (abbreviated SOC) is the National Olympic Committee of Sweden. It was founded in 1913 and organized the Olympic movement in Sweden. It consists of 36 member associations.

History

After the founding in 1913 SOC was included in the same year in the International Olympic Committee. Its first president was King Gustav VI. Adolf, who remained in office until 1933. He was replaced by his son Gustav Adolf of Sweden, but in 1947 resigned due to his death from office. He was followed by Bertil of Sweden, the Office held fifty years until he died in 1997. It also established the presidency ended by a member of the royal family. In 1997, Carl- Gustav Anderberg president, who previously served as Chairman of the Swedish Association of Chimney Sweeps ( Sveriges skorstensfejaremästares Riksförbund ). When he was three years in office, he was replaced by Stefan Lindeberg.
