Swedish Sea Rescue Society

Sjöräddningssällskapet or Sällskapet Svenska för Räddning af Skeppsbrutne ( SSRS) is a voluntary sea rescue in Sweden. The company was founded in 1907 in Stockholm.

SSRS works along the Swedish coast in the Baltic Sea and the Kattegat and Skagerrak. The Company as the German GMRS is financed solely by membership fees and donations. It maintains 65 stations ( Sjöräddningsstationer ) and provides 140 vehicles with a total of 1500 volunteers ready as occupation. 300 of these volunteers are ready within 15 minutes.
