Swedish Security Service

Säkerhetspolisen ( briefly also Säpo; literal translation: security police ) is the national news service in Sweden. He reports to the National Police Agency Rikspolisstyrelsen, which in turn is subordinate to the Ministry of Justice.

Main tasks are counter-espionage, the constitutional protection, the fight against terrorism and the protection of persons (for example, the royal family and politicians ).

The headquarters is located in Stockholm. The five regional offices are located in Gothenburg, Lulea, Malmo, Uppsala and Örebro. At headquarters the Säpo is divided into eleven operating units. The staff resources to be reduced from 2012 to 2015 by around ten percent through attrition, is about 1,000 employees.
