Swedish Super League

Svenska Superligan is the highest division in the Swedish floorball for men. For the new season 2008/2009 has the number of teams increased from 12 to 14.

History

The Svenska Superligan was founded in 1995 under the name Elitserien, which replaced the Division 1 as the highest division in Sweden. Up to and including the 1998/99 season the league was still a North and divided into a southern group before 1999/2000, a single-track top division was created. For the 2007/08 season the league was renamed Svenska Superligan and decided the following year, an increase from 12 to 14 teams.

Mode

The season starts with the normal league where all teams compete against each other twice. After the 8 best teams in the league play the play-offs ( Best-of -5) from. Only the final decision is a single game that is played in the Stockholm Globe Arena. In addition to the championship is still a trophy, which Ligacupen, played out.
