Sweet corn

Sweet corn or sweet corn (Zea mays Saccharata Group) is a corn variety, the very late loses its sweet taste when ripe and no distinct floury taste proportion shows. A known maize is Golden Bantam.

The most cultivated as forage maize in Europe maize varieties start with the end of the milk stage to accept a floury taste that is the taste of the flour abgereiften maize until the end of the dough stage. In contrast, the sweet corn retains the sweet taste of milk ripe corn with a decreasing trend until the end of the dough stage. Also, the stem pith of sugar corn contains sugar, but this is in almost all maize varieties of the case ( the stalk Mark serves the corn as energy storage for the piston development).

The abgereifte sweet corn grain contains no sugars and its grains are also rich meal like the other corn varieties.
