Åšwierzenko

Świerzenko ( German Klein Schwirsen, Rummelsburg / Pomeranian, Kashubian Swierzenkò ) is a village in the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship and is part of the urban and rural community Miastko ( Rummelsburg ) in a circle Bytów ( Buetow ).

Geographical location

Świerzenko located 12 kilometers north-west of the former county town Miastko ( Rummelsburg ) and 48 kilometers west of the present county metropolis Bytów ( Buetow ), near the border between the Province of Pomerania to the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Through the town, the province road 206 that leads from Miastko about Polanów ( Pollnow ) up to Koszalin ( Koszalin ) runs. The nearest train station is Kawcze ( Kaffzig ) on the railway line from Pila ( Pila ) on Szczecinek ( Pommern ) to Slupsk ( Stolp ) and Ustka ( Stolpmünde ).

History

The village in question until 1945 small Schwirsen was until 1928 in a rural community and a divided Gutsbezirk. Both parts were in the newly established District United Schwirsen (now Polish: Świerzno ) incorporated in 1874, which until 1945 the district Rummelsburg i Pom. belonged in the district of the Prussian province of Pomerania Pomerania. In 1910 179 residents were in the rural community Klein Schwirsen 99, counted in Gutsbezirk small Schwirsen. On September 30, 1928, the Gutsbezirk small Schwirsen was incorporated in the same rural community.

Small Schwirsen was for centuries owned by the family von Lettow -Vorbeck, then experienced Changing ownership and arrived in 1928 in the possession of Richard Mecke, the last lord of the manor was to small Schwirsen. 1938 had the good size of about 810 acres, with a large distillery and fish farming.

Small Schwirsen counted 1933 288 and 1939 246 inhabitants.

As a result of World War II small Schwirsen came to Poland and received the Polish name " Świerzenko ". Today the village is a village within the city and rural municipality ( gmina ) Miastko ( Rummelsburg ) in the powiat Bytowski the Pomeranian Voivodeship ( 1975-1998 Slupsk voivodship ).

Church

The predominantly Protestant population was small Schwirsens to 1945 in the parish of Great Schwirsen (Polish: Świerzno ) eingepfarrt. It belonged to the church Rummelsburg county in Pomerania Ostsprengel the Church of the Church of the Old Prussian Union.

Today live in Świerzenko almost exclusively Catholic population. You now belong to the parish Świerzno ( United Schwirsen ), the church is the former Protestant church. The parish is part of the deanery Polanów ( Pollnow ) in the Diocese of Koszalin - Kolobrzeg of the Catholic Church in Poland. Here surviving Protestant church members live in the catchment area of the Evangelical- Lutheran congregation in Wołcza Wielka (Great Volz ), a branch church of the parish in Koszalin ( Koszalin ) in the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland.
