The Swift River is a 160 km long left tributary of the Kuskokwim River in the southwestern interior of Alaska.

The river rises several glaciers on the west side of the Alaska Range north of Lake Clark National Park. It flows westward 21 km northeast of Sleetmute to its confluence with the Kuskokwim River.

The name of the Eskimos for the river was recorded 1842-44 by Lieutenant LA Sagoskin of the Imperial Russian Navy as " R ( eka ) Chagvanakhtuli ". WS Post, United States Geological Survey recorded in 1898 called " Chakawunapuk " the. JE Spurr, also of the USGS, as " Chagavenapuk " was published The name of the natives was narrated by Zagoskin as " Khockalitno ". The translation of this name, Swift River, originates from AG Maddren by the USGS from 1908.
