Sydney Smith (forensic expert)

Sir Sydney Alfred Smith ( * August 4, 1883 Roxburgh / Otago, † 1969) was a British coroner.

He attended public school in Roxburgh, then the Victoria College, Wellington. Later he went to the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. After a short time in general medical practice, he finished this activity and was, at the suggestion of Professor Harvey Littlejohn, Assistant in the Department of Legal Medicine. In 1914 he received his Doctorate of Medicine. Smith was rector of the University of Edinburgh from 1954 until 1957.
