Sylvester Groth

Sylvester Groth ( born March 31, 1958 in Jerichow ) is a German actor, who also works as a speaker for audio books.

Life

Groth studied acting and singing at the Academy of Dramatic Arts " Ernst Busch" Berlin. It was followed by engagements in East German cities such as Schwerin, Dresden and Berlin, where he worked as a guest performer at the German Theatre and from 1986 to 1989 at the theater. Further stations after the turn was the Residenz Theater, Munich Chamber games, the Berliner Ensemble, the Vienna Burgtheater, and the Salzburg Festival.

In addition to extensive theater career, he also starred in numerous television and movies. His breakthrough as an actor he had in Frank Beyer's DEFA strips Stay of 1982/83, the film adaptation of a novel by Hermann Kant, where he played the lead role and for 1984 to the 3rd National film festival of the GDR received the Young Actor Award. In the movie The Ghost Rider by Theodor Storm of 1984 he played a second time in a title role. 1984/85 Groth worked in the Federal Republic, in Johannes Schaaf's Momo by Michael Ende he played the Agent BLW/553 X. In 1992, he played the role of Otto in the war drama Stalingrad and 2006 in the role of Joseph Goebbels in Dani Levy's Mein Führer.

In 2007, Groth turned with Andreas Dresen the feature film Whisky with Vodka and Christian Görlitz the filming of Heinz Strunk's cult novel is my meat vegetables. 2008 Groth participated in the movie Hilde, Hildegard Knef brings life to the big screen and starred in this theater director Boleslaw Barlog. Since September 2008, he turned along with Shia LaBeouf and Maja Beautiful Tender Parasites, a feature film by Christian Becker and Oliver Schwabe. In Quentin Tarantino 's Inglourious Basterds Sylvester Groth was again seen in 2009 as Goebbels. In 2010 he played in the documentary Aghet - A genocide a teacher at the German school in Aleppo.

In January 2013, the Potsdam Film Museum honored the actor with a retrospective. In the retrospective paired with panel discussions were numerous films in which Groth permitting, shown, including Frank Beyer's film Staying with the Groth in 1983 produced his first feature film role, the breakthrough in the Babelsberg film studios. Groth himself was present on 26 January 2013 at a public conversation.

On January 29, 2013 it was announced that Groth will determine together with Claudia Michelsen in the TV series Police 110 in Magdeburg. The first broadcast of this police call 110, entitled " The Prodigal Son" from Magdeburg on 13 October 2013, the ARD. So you came over from Jaecki Black and Wolfgang Winkler.

Currently Groth stands in Magdeburg for the second police call 110 " The Invisible Man" (AT ) before the camera. A transmission is planned for 2014 at the ARD.
