Sylvie Germain
Sylvie Germain (born 1954 in Châteauroux ) is a French author.
Life
Sylvie Germain studied philosophy at the Sorbonne ( maitrise 1976, PhD 1981). In 1981 she began to work in the Ministry of Culture. From 1986 to 1993 she became a teacher of philosophy and French at the École française in Prague and witnessed the political movement in the scene with dissidents. She is a freelance writer based in Paris and Pau.
Work
- Her first novel, Le Livre des nuits was published in 1981 and has received several awards ( Prix du Lion's Club International, prix du Livre insolite, Passion prix, prix Hermès ). In 1989 she was awarded the Prix Femina for Jours de colère.
- Her novel Magnus was awarded the Prix Goncourt des lycéens 18 (the jury of students aged between 15 and 18 years there ).
