Symetra

The Symetra Financial Corporation is an insurance company and financial services provider with headquarters in Bellevue, Washington in the United States. The company with more than 1.6 million customers in 2011 generated sales of around two billion dollars and employed more than 1,100 employees.

History

The beginnings of Symetra go back to the year 1957 when the company, which later became the current Symetra Financial Corporation form, were founded. They were subsidiaries of a Fortune 500 insurance company from Seattle.

2004 Symetra Financial Corporation as an independent company. By a group of investors around the White Mountains Insurance Group, Ltd. was and Berkshire Hathaway Inc. was purchased formed.

Since 2010 the company listed on the New York Stock Exchange shares are traded.
