Symon Budny

Szymon Budny (also Symon Budny; * January 1530 in Budne, Podlasie, † January 13, 1593 in Wiszniów ) was a Polish- Belarusian humanist, translator of the Bible and leading representatives of the Polish- Lithuanian Unitarianism.

Life

Budny came from orthodoxdem environment and studied at several universities in Italy, Switzerland and at the Cracow Academy. After completing his studies, he worked under the protection of the Protestant princes Mikołaj Czarny Radziwill as Reformed pastor in the Belarusian Kletsk.
