Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Rajkot

The Diocese of Rajkot (Latin: Dioecesis Raikotensis ) is a diocese of the united with the Roman Catholic Church Syro - Malabar Church, based in Rajkot in India. It includes the districts of Amreli, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Porbandar, Rajkot, Surendranagar and Kutch in Gujarat.

History

Pope Paul VI. founded it with the Apostolic Constitution De recta fidelium on February 26, 1977 from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Ahmedabad and was the Archdiocese of Bombay assumed as suffragan.

On 11 November 2002 it became a part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Gandhinagar.
