Széchenyi István University
The Széchenyi István University (Hungarian Széchenyi István Egyetem ) is a named after István Széchenyi state university in the northwest Hungarian town of Győr with 9,500 students ( including 2,000 part-time students ) and 270 academic staff (figures for 2006).
History
The Széchenyi István University was founded in 1968 as the University of Transport and Telecommunications, with offices in Budapest and Szeged. In the early 1990s the facilities were moved to Győr, and since 1 January 2002, the college university status.
The Széchenyi István University is a partner college of the University of Ansbach.
