Szpilman Award

The Szpilman Award ' is an art prize, which is awarded annually. The Szpilman Award is awarded for works that exist only for a moment or a short period of time. It will support work that exist in their form of volatile situations. The Szpilman Award was first awarded in 2003 and since then has been the world's only price of ephemeral art. He is publicly advertised.

Background

The Szpilman Award was launched in 2003. He is initiated, financed and organized by the German artist group Szpilman. Initially the price was advertised throughout Germany; in 2004 he opened up for Europe. The public interest grew and in 2006 the price was advertised worldwide.

The jury is international with art experts. Last year's winner is always a member of the jury. The winner receives a jackpot scholarship. This consists of three parts: a challenge cup for ten days accommodation in Cimochowizna (Poland ) including arrival and departure and a cash sum. The amount of money is dynamic. Parallel to the competitive tendering Szpilman collects the funds for the scholarship.
