Szymbark, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship

Szymbark ( German Schoenberg ) is a village in the rural community Iława powiat Iławski in the Warmia and Mazury, Poland.

Geography

The village is located 8 km northwest of Iława on Jezioro Szymbarskie (German Haussee ).

History

The village was first mentioned in 1378. It belonged to the cathedral chapter of Marie Werder, today Kwidzyn. After the Reformation in Prussia in 1525, the Office Schoenberg went on in worldly possessions and was according to changeable property in 1699 from the Electoral Chamber Mr. Ernst Graf Finck von Finckenstein, called the " rich shepherd ", purchased together with the Schönberger goods of about 9000 hectares. Schoenberg remained in finck Einstein's family ( Fideikommiss ) until 1945.
