Szymon Czechowicz

Szymon Czechowicz ( * before July 22, 1689 in Krakow, † July 21, 1775 in Warsaw) was a Polish painter.

Life

Czechowicz came from a goldsmithing family. Thanks to the support of Franciszek Maksymilian Ossoliński he was able to study at the Academy of Saint Luka in Rome from 1711 painting. 1731 he returned to Poland. Czechowicz mainly painted religious pictures and portraits (including the Ossoliński family Jan Fryderyk Sapieha Jan Klemens Branicki and Waclaw Rzewuski )
