Szymon Giżyński

Szymon Stanisław Giżyński ( born March 8, 1956 in Częstochowa ) is a Polish politician and since 2001 member of the Sejm in the IV, V and VI. Election period.

He finished the study of Polish Studies. Until December 1981 he was a member of the Catholic, pro-government union " Pax ". In the 80 years he was sales representatives of different companies. After 1990 he was a member of the Catholic right-wing conservative Porozumienie Centrum ( center - agreement - PC), the Ruch dla Rzeczypospolitej (Movement for the Republic ) and the Akcja Wyborcza Solidarność ( electoral alliance Solidarity - AWS ) until he in 2001, the Prawo i Sprawiedliwość ( law and Justice - PiS) joined.

In the 90 years he was senior partner and chief editor of the weekly newspaper "Gazeta Częstochowska ". From 1997 to 1998 he was the last voivode of Częstochowa Voivodeship. After the takeover of the office of voivode he gave his shares as well as items from the "Gazeta Częstochowska " and entered her from his wife Urszula. From 2000 to 2001 he headed the Department of the Silesian Agencja Restrukturyzacji i Modernizacji Rolnictwa Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture. In the 2006 local elections, he ran for the office of Mayor of Częstochowa, and reached 12.56 % in fourth.

In the parliamentary elections of 2001 and 2005, he won on the list of PiS each one parliamentary seat for the constituency 28 Częstochowa ( in 2005 with 15,840 votes). In the 2007 parliamentary elections, he was elected with 28 531 votes for the third time for the PiS in the Sejm. He is a member of the Sejm Commission on Agriculture.
