Taavi Tamminen

Taavi Nikolai Tamminen ( born March 10, 1889 in Uurainen; † January 19, 1967 in Helsinki) was a Finnish wrestler.

Taavi Tamminen wrestled for the club from the Eastern Finland Joensuu Joensuu Kataja. At the Summer Olympics in Antwerp in 1920 he won the Greco -Roman style in lightweight silver medal, behind compatriot Eemeli Väre. In November 1921 he took part in the World Championships in their own country. In Helsinki he was middleweight 75 kg before Volmari Vikström, Edvard Vesterlund and Eemil Juvonen, who all came from Finland, first. In Finnish championships in 1922 was made first before Eetu Huupponen and Kalle Vester Lund, 1913, he had become in Kotka second behind Tatu Kolehmainen.
