Taavi Veskimägi

Taavi Veskimägi ( born November 20, 1974 in Eidapere, today rural community Kehtna, Rapla county, Estonia) is an Estonian politician. He was from 2003 to 2005 Minister of Finance of the Republic of Estonia. He joined the Conservative Party Isamaa yes Res Publica Liit to.

Life and Politics

Taavi Veskimägi 1993 defined his high school diploma in 1993 from Rapla. He studied civil engineering until 1995 at the Technical University of Tallinn ( TTÜ ) and 1995-1998 Administration at the Tallinn Pedagogical University. From 1996 to 2001 he worked in the Estonian Ministry of Finance, then as a consultant in the private sector.

As early as 1994 he became politically active and joined the political group (since 2001 's Party) at Res Publica. 2001/2002 Veskimägi was treasurer of Res Publica and quickly rose to leadership positions.

With the election victory of his party in the spring of 2003 Taavi Veskimägi as a deputy to the Estonian Parliament ( Riigikogu ) was chosen. Then held Veskimägi October 2003 to April 2005 in the cabinet of his party colleague Juhan Parts, the Minister of Finance

After retiring from the government Veskimägi worked again as an MP, including as Vice President of the Estonian Parliament (2005 /2006). Since 2005 Veskimägi is one of the two co-chairs of Isamaa yes Res Publica Liit, which emerged in 2006 from the union of the two parties Isamaa and Res Publica.

Taavi Veskimägi living in consensual union and has a daughter.
