Tadamori Oshima

Tadamori Ōshima (Japanese大 岛 理 森, Ōshima Tadamori; born September 6, 1946 in Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture) is a Japanese politician, Member of the Shūgiin, the lower house, and Vice- Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party ( LDP). Within the party he leads since 2012 the Ōshima faction, the former Komura faction.

Ōshima worked after graduating from Keio University for the Mainichi Shimbun. From 1975 he was member of the Parliament Aomori Prefecture for five years. After a failed candidacy in 1980, he belongs since 1983 to the Shūgiin, initially for the first constituency Aomori ( 4 seats), then after the electoral reform of 1994 in a single constituency Aomori 3

1995 Omori was in the Cabinet Murayama as head of the Environmental Protection Agency for the first time Minister (until 1996 ). Under Prime Minister Mori Yoshirō he was from Juli to December 2000, Minister of Education and Head of the Department of Science and Technology and Jun'ichirô Koizumi from 2002 to 2003, when he resigned after a scandal involving political funds, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. In the LDP, he served as Deputy Secretary General and several times Chairman of the Association of Aomori Prefecture, before he aufrückte 2000 to 2002 and again from 2007 to 2009 as chairman of the Committee for Parliamentary Affairs in the inner circle of party leadership. After the electoral defeat of the LDP in the 2009 election Shūgiin appointed him the new party chairman Sadakazu Tanigaki for LDP Secretary-General in September 2010 as Deputy Chairman ( fuku - Sosai ), which was last occupied in 2003. 2012, the party chairman Shinzō Abe ( Machimura faction ) Masahiko Komura became his successor, and shortly afterwards took over the Ōshima Faktionsvorsitz of Komura.
