Tadeusz DÄ…browski

Tadeusz Dabrowski ( born 1979 ) is a poet, essayist, critic, editor of the literary magazine Topos and artistic director of the Festival of European Poet of Freedom. He has published six books of poetry and was in 2006 the definitive anthology of contemporary Polish poetry Poza słowa. Antologia wierszy out from 1976 to 2006.

In 2009 he received the Kościelski Price, 2008 Hubert Burda Prize and 2006 on the recommendation of Tadeusz Różewicz the prize of the Polish Cultural Foundation. Czarny kwadrat was nominated for the NIKE Literary Award (2010).

He was a fellow of the Omi International Arts Center ( USA, 2013), the Vermont Studio Center (2011), the literature Lana (2011), the International House of the authors Graz ( 2008), the Polish Ministry of Culture (2007, 2010), the Literary Colloquium Berlin (2006, 2012) and the Baltic Centre for Writers and Translators in Visby (2004, 2010).

In German language in his lyrics translations of Andre Rudolph, Renate Schmidgall, Monika Rinck, Alexander Gumz and Ursula Kiermeier published.

Selected poems have been published in Germany (black square on black ground, Luxbooks 2010, the book received positive reviews among other things, in: Die Welt, Der Tagesspiegel, Berliner Zeitung and The Friday and was elected to 6th place the SWR -best list; February 2011) and in the U.S. ( Black Square, Zephyr Press, 2011).
