Tages

Tarchies or day ( Latin spelling) was the Etruscan god of wisdom. He was the son or grandson of Jupiter and should have the Etruscans Tarchon conveys the art of divination. In pictorial representations, it appears with two snakes instead of his legs.

Cicero says in his De divinatione that once an Etruscan farmer had a deeper furrow drawn plowing than usual, after the day had risen from the ground. The god possessed a child's face, but the wisdom of ancient sages. Attracted by the astonished cry of peasants, then, a large crowd had appeared, which day had explained how they could read the future from omens of nature. The Etruscans were then deposited these teachings of the day writing.
