Tahdiya

The Arab- Islamic legal concept Tahdi'a (also tahdiya, tahadiya; Arab تهدئة, DMG Tahdi ʾ a, pacification ') means something like ceasefire " ceasefire " or "period of calm ".

A tahadiya is a temporary cessation of warlike or hostile acts - but it is not binding, has no fixed time frame and may be terminated if it is advantageous for the faithful immediately.

The tahadiya is of a hudna ( truce ) and a Sulh ( "Peace, peace treaty; reconciliation " ) to delimit.

In the Middle East conflict is often falsely spoken of a " truce " ( hudna ), unless there is a tahadiya.
