Tai'erzhuang District

The municipality Tai_erzhuang (台儿庄 区, Tai_erzhuang Qū ) belongs to the administrative area of the prefecture-level city of Zaozhuang in the south of Shandong province, People's Republic of China. It has an area of 538 km ² and has 290,000 inhabitants.

During the so-called Second Sino-Japanese War, the Battle of Tai_erzhuang between armies of Chinese Kuomintang and Japan took place here in 1938.

The former site of the Battle of Tai_erzhuang (Chinese台儿庄 大战 旧址, Pinyin Tai_erzhuang Dazhan Jiuzhi ) is on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China ( 6-981 ) since 2006.
