Tai Nuea (also Dehong Tai or Dai; own name: ᥖ ᥭ ᥰ ᥖ ᥬ ᥳ ᥑ ᥨ ᥒ ᥰ [ taj taɯxoŋ ]; Chinese傣 那 语, Pinyin Dǎinàyǔ ) is one of the four languages ​​of the Dai, one of the 55 officially recognized national minorities of the People's Republic of China.

It is probably the same language that is spoken by the people of Shan in Myanmar, or a very closely related language. There are also speakers in Thailand and Laos, and perhaps also in Vietnam.

Designation

For the " smaller" languages ​​of Southeast Asia, there are often many different names; this is also true for Tai Nuea to. The assignment of different groups of speakers is controversial.

In the People's Republic of China nor the names Dǎinàyǔ傣 那 语and Dehong Dǎiyǔ德宏 傣 语be used other than the proper name.
