Taillebourg (Charente-Maritime)
Waist Bourg is a commune with 747 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Charente -Maritime in the Poitou -Charentes; it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint -Jean- d'Angély and the canton of Saint- Savinien.
History
Near the village was in 1242 between the troops of the king of France and the King of England, the Battle of Taillebourg instead, which ended with a victory of the French army.

Attractions
The waist Bourg castle was the most important castle of the Saintonge during the 18th century. The three -winged building in the form of a U burned from 1822 during a fire and is today only a ruin.
