TaÃ¯na Barioz

Taïna Barioz ( born June 2, 1988 in Papeete, Tahiti ) is a French alpine skier. She specializes in the disciplines of giant slalom and slalom.

Biography

Barioz drove her first FIS races in November 2003, the European Cup they reached in January 2005 for use. After winning in December 2005, the first FIS races, she gave on 3 February 2006 her debut in the World Cup, where they reached the 34th place in the giant slalom in Ofterschwang. A fifth course in the same discipline was their best result at the Junior World Championship in 2006. Barioz In December 2006, scored their first podium finish in the European Cup, a month later she had injured the season prematurely.

26 January 2008 Barioz won with rank 14 in the giant slalom in Ofterschwang first World Cup points, more quantifiable results at the highest level remained in this winter out, however. At the Junior World Championship 2008, she missed out on Fourth of combined score just a medal. In winter 2008/ 09 Barioz pulled one of the world leaders when she drove into the World Cup giant slalom in Cortina d' Ampezzo and Åre at # 4 and 5 respectively. At the 2009 World Championships she reached the eleventh place in the giant slalom.

The first podium in a World Cup race succeeded Barioz on December 28, 2009, when she went in the giant slalom in Lienz on the third place. At the Olympic Winter Games 2010, she was after the first run of the giant slalom at number two, but then fell back to seven places. In the course of the 2010/11 season Barioz was ' only top- 10 finish in the World Cup, the sixth place in the giant slalom in St. Moritz. She won at the World Championships 2011 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen with the French team the gold medal in the team competition and was tenth in the giant slalom.
